DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – UAE airline flydubai has increased its flight capacity to Italy in response to the rising international travel demand. According to official information from Emirates News Agency, flydubai is expanding its operations within Italy by adding more flight frequencies to key commercial hubs. As part of the new schedule starting July 31, 2026, the airline will operate twice daily flights between Dubai and Milan-Bergamo, while also strengthening its presence in Naples with daily round-trip services.

flydubai adds double daily flights to Milan Bergamo from July
Airline management teams allocate commercial fleet capacity to high demand travel markets.

This expanded timetable broadens flydubai’s overall operational footprint in Italy, which already includes three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily and seasonal summer services to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia, operating twice weekly until the end of August. In addition to increasing flight frequencies, the airline has outlined operational adjustments due to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy. Specifically, between November 1 and November 30, 2026, flydubai will temporarily reroute its daily service from Dubai International Airport to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport because of planned maintenance at Naples International Airport. Regular flights to Naples are expected to resume on December 1, 2026, with existing bookings automatically transferred to the Salerno route during this transition period.

Codeshare Partnership Enhances Passenger Connectivity via Dubai

The newly expanded routes to Milan-Bergamo and Naples continue to operate under the established codeshare agreement between flydubai and Emirates, the international flag carrier. This collaboration enables travelers to benefit from integrated travel itineraries, single-ticket purchases, coordinated flight schedules, and through-checked baggage services across both airline networks. By utilizing the shared network through Dubai’s central hub, passengers connecting from Italian airports gain streamlined access to long-haul destinations in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including direct flights to Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar.

This capacity increase aligns with broader trends in commercial aviation across the Middle East and Europe, where international passenger traffic has steadily rebounded after the pandemic. The higher flight frequencies support growing bilateral trade, investment, and leisure tourism between the United Arab Emirates and Italy. The addition of twice-daily flights to Milan-Bergamo boosts seat availability for business travelers heading to Italy’s main financial and industrial hub, while daily services to Southern Italy meet rising seasonal demand from international tourists exploring cultural landmarks along the Amalfi Coast.

Commenting on the network expansion, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, remarked that Naples and Milan have become vital gateways within the airline’s European route network. He emphasized that the company’s main goal remains to guarantee consistent regional access for travelers while maintaining a long-term strategy to connect underserved markets. Al Ghaith further stated that market data confirm flydubai’s commitment to strengthening operations in Italy through strategic frequency enhancements to accommodate increasing passenger flows between the UAE and Italy, especially as travel demand accelerates toward the winter season.

Regional Airports Serve as Key Entry Points for Travelers

Expanding on commercial activities, Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, highlighted that increasing direct flights to Naples and Milan-Bergamo underscores the strategic importance of the Italian market. Efendi explained that offering nonstop connections allows international travelers to leverage the combined network of flydubai and Emirates, enabling seamless access to prominent global destinations via Dubai. He also reassured that the airline’s operational teams and fleet allocations are prepared to manage the increased daily flight operations, ensuring reliable service for both passenger and cargo traffic.

These operational enhancements reflect flydubai’s ongoing fleet expansion and global network development strategy. As the airline continues to receive new modern narrow-body aircraft, its commercial planning aims for further frequency increases on high-demand European routes. The revised Italian flight schedules reinforce Dubai’s role as a major international aviation hub, facilitating smooth movement of passengers and freight between Europe, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa, while also expanding to new destinations worldwide.
